SWEET BABY STARR!!!!!!!

Doug and I went to our first appointment for the baby today. We had an ultrasound and got to to see the little gummy bear...and see his little heart flashing on the screen! It was pretty much the coolest thing in the world and we couldn't be happier! Everything is looking perfect according to our awesome doctor, Dr. Bushart. We are measuring right on time, 7 weeks and 2 days. Due date is APRIL 15, 2012!! Can you believe it? This is the picture of the picture of the ultrasound taken with my iPhone, so its pretty crappy.

ten days of me: Day 1: ten secrets

I got this from my friend's BLOG. Its a cute idea to talk more about myself, and who wouldn't want that??!!

10 Secrets

1- I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the Real Housewives Shows

2- I watch PBS News Hour every night with Doug

3- I love Gorge W. Bush

4- I over came my BIGGEST fear Sunday, and touched a snake (and then screamed like a little girl)

5- I love coffee, but I have recently figured out my stomach can't handle it

6- Dipped cones are my favorite and I can eat them every day 

7- Chick-Fil-A waffle fries are my favorite, and I can also eat them every day (thank you pregnancy for making this ok)

8- I am not really worried about this whole pregnancy thing.. I think that has more to do with Doug not letting me be all dramatic. I think its the most natural thing I can do...and I hope I do it well 

9- Root Beer is my favorite drink- caffeine free of course

10- I am going to go eat some awesome chocolate and raspberry cake my awesome friend Taylor made...and this will be my second piece today! WHAT?!!

AUGUST COOKIE OF THE MONTH!!!

S'MORES COOKIES!!!

Look at these pretties!! I found the recipe on Pinterest...the coolest sight ever. You can go and find inspiration for EVERYTHING in your life.. I mean everything.. home decor, arts and crafts, jewelry, recipes, EVERYTHING!! I picked this cookie because nothing says the end of summer and beginning of fall like a camp fire and s'mores (plus I showed Doug the picture and he demanded  asked me politely to make them right away)!

here is the recipe card I made for it.. I think it should print.. if not email me if you want the recipe and I can email it to you.

ingredients

cream 11 yes 11 TBS of butter, white and brown sugar

add eggs and vanilla, then the rest of the dry ingredients

I only had large marshmallows, so I tore them up into smaller pieces. Add them with the chocolate chips  

let the dough chill for about an hour then put about a TBS on the gram crackers and bake for 5 min 

take them out, add the Hersey bar pieces and put back in the over for 7 min 

final product... I let them chill for a few min and they looked much better. Doug ate 2 in about  45 seconds so I m going to go out on a limb and say they are good!

OWL FAMILY

This posting is long over due. I totally forgot Kaylee and I did this until I was looking through my camera. I was trying to find something fun for us to do inside while the Texas heat was in full force. I came across another blog with this idea. We used toilet paper and paper towel rolls to make an owl family. Kaylee cut them to size, painted them and decorated them. Then we found an old shoe box and made it their home. We even went outside to find sticks and leaves for the owls habitat.

Summer 2011

Summer 2011 is almost over. It has been an eventful one. Kaylee and I have spent all summer together, playing, swimming, watching movies, hanging out with Candace and Kayla, baking, making jewelry.... It has been fun to hang out with her one on one and to spend some time together. She is getting so old so fast, I know I will look back on this summer and have fuzzy warm feelings :)

Football is BACK!!

Lets be real here... I am not an actual football "fan". I don't talk about stats, I don't know most of the players (minus a few cute ones) ect. However, I do like the good times that come during football season. We have 2 rules in the Starr house, we watch EVERY Texans game, and EVERY Bucs game. I like to cuddle the hubs on the couch, and keep his Bucs beer mug and his tummy full. Basically, nothing makes me happier than watching him jump around like a fool excited little kid. This year I am going for my first fantasy league...should be exciting.. I expect to have the best looking team in football, because if I have to pay attention, they better at least be cute!! Here is to Official NFL 2011 season

Beautiful Beaded Jewelry-- by K&T

When Grandma Starr was in town last year she taught Kaylee and I how to bead our own jewelry.  We had forgotten about it for a while,then we went to Hobby Lobby; We found some beads that we LOVED, and we have been beading machines ever since! Zilker Park with our Pack

Since we have moved to Barton Springs, we have been spending a lot of time at Zilker Park

We love to bring our dogs over here in the evening (you know, when it has cooled down to a comfortable 92) and throw the ball for them. Its great place to play with your beloved dogs--here are some pics from a visit we just made with our Pack.
